These webinars are designed to provide valuable information for drivers, mechanics, and anyone interested in the safety and maintenance of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs).
March 28 is the Vehicle Inspection and Pre/Post Trip Inspections Webinar. This united training offers a unique opportunity for drivers and mechanics to receive information in an open setting that encourages discussion and a cooperative team approach to CMV repair and maintenance safety. The course will cover a range of topics including what vehicles meet the definition of a CMV, the recordkeeping requirements, and Part 393 and other roadside inspection information. Participants will gain a better understanding of what constitutes a violation on a roadside inspection and how to determine when something must be replaced or repaired.
April 18 is the Understanding CDL Requirements, D&A Clearinghouse and Testing Webinar. This course is essential for anyone who needs to have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or wants to learn more about the requirements. The webinar will cover the different classes of CDL, who needs an endorsement, and what is a restriction. It will also provide an overview of the CDL/Medical Card integration, Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and testing requirements for CDL drivers in 49CFR Part 382, and Entry Level Driver Training as it pertains to licensing. Participants will learn about CDL disqualifications and driver/employer responsibilities, as well as how to query the D&A Clearinghouse and report violations.
Both webinars will be conducted by experienced North Dakota Highway Patrol instructors who are experts in the field of CMV safety and maintenance. These webinars are an excellent opportunity for participants to gain valuable knowledge and improve their skills.
