Brake Safety Week
August 25, 2024 - August 31, 2024
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will conduct its annual Brake Safety Week from August 25-31, 2024. This event focuses on both education and enforcement of brake inspection and maintenance procedures for commercial vehicles. Last year, nearly 13% of inspected vehicles were placed out of service for brake-related issues, many of which are preventable with proper maintenance. Inspectors will focus on various brake components, with a special emphasis on contaminated, worn, or missing linings or pads.
